Rotary Club Seeking Volunteers …
The Rotary Club of Paducah is seeking volunteers to construct a new public playground during a community build event which will take place the week of June 20-26, 2016. The playground will provide children of all ages and abilities with a place for active and creative play in a natural outdoor setting.
The new $200,000 playground is being constructed as a part of the new Paducah Health Park project which will be located at 13th Street and Martin Luther King Drive in Paducah. The 4,000 square foot play area will feature a rope wall, rock wall, along with a variety of castles, swings, slides and monkey bars. The new playground will provide hours of healthy exercise and entertainment for the children in the community.
During the seven-day construction period, The Rotary Club of Paducah will lead twenty 4-hour shifts of 50 to 60 volunteers each who will dig, saw, hammer and assemble the playground in place. Materials, tools, nourishing meals and even childcare will be provided to volunteers.
All in all, 900 4-hour volunteer slots will need to be filled to complete this project. Individuals, church groups, civic groups and local businesses are needed as volunteers to make this project a reality.
PLEASE JOIN US AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR AS A GROUP FROM YOUR BUSINESS, CHURCH OR CIVIC GROUP!
